Brighten North St. Paul with exceptional Snowy Sculptures

Project Snowy is a community art project aimed at showing City spirit, supporting the arts community, and contributing to the cityscape with art using snowman statues. Businesses and organizations can purchase a Snowy statue, which will then be decorated by a local artist. The decorated statues can be placed at a location owned by the purchaser, or the purchaser can choose to donate the statue for placement on City property, creating a unique public art display that showcases the creativity and talent of our community.

Snowy Statue Investment

Purchase your own Snowy statue with a $5,000 investment and enjoy the following benefits:

  • The opportunity to select the artist for your statue. Each Snowy sculpture will be designed by an artist living in Minnesota. You will have input on the design and/or artist for your sculpture.
  • Your name and/or logo permanently affixed to the statue's base.
  • Ownership of the statue. 
  • Statue placement at your business location or you may donate it to the City for placement on City land pending approval

  • Your business tagged on the City's social media channels acknowledging your support
  • Identified in the City's press releases about the project

  • Recognized at a City Council meeting
  • Potential for other news and publicity opportunities

All Snowy investors will be featured on the City's website and their support promoted during all community events including the Fall Round Up Parade, Holiday Hop and other City events.

Current Timeline and Milestones:

  • Snowy statue purchasing period: June 26 - January 31, 2024. Deadline is January 31, 2024.
  • Open call for artists: September 19, 2023 - January 14, 2024.
  • Selection of artist by purchaser: February 1 - February 23, 2024.
  • Inform artists/sign contracts: February 24 - March 15, 2024.
  • Snowy statue production: March 26 - April 20, 2024. 
  • Artist work period: April 24 - May 10, 2024.
  • Finalizing statues: May 10 - May 15, 2024. 
  • Delivery of statues to final location: May 15 - May 31, 2024.
