Living Streets Plan

About the Plan

The Living Streets Plan (PDF) was developed in partnership with the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District (RWMWD), with funding from the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.

The Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) worked with the City Council and the Watershed District to produce a plan that would result in a reduction of pollution flowing into area lakes, improved water quality, and a balance between the important functions of traffic conveyance and utilities with the important functions of nature.

The Living Streets Plan was adopted by Council in January of 2011. It establishes street designed that appeals to residents and improves environmental issues, increases property values, promotes safety and activity, and will spark economic revitalization.
