Election judges are paid officials trained to handle all aspects of voting at a polling place on Election Day. Anyone eligible to vote in Minnesota and able to read, write and speak English can serve.
Election judges must complete a two-hour training. Training is available online and in-person the month before election.Trained judges work the Primary Election (August 14) and the General Election (November 6) typically from 6 am to 9 pm.
State law requires employers to provide employees time off from work to serve as an election judge without a reduction in pay.
