The City of North St. Paul is accepting applications for open positions on two of our Commissions. There is one open position on our Parks and Recreation Commission and two open positions on the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday at 6:30. The Planning Commission makes recommendations to City Council on the various elements of the Comprehensive Plan, reviews amendments to the zoning ordinance, and makes recommendations to City Council on conditional use permits, variances, and other zoning applications.
There are two open positions on this commission. Commission members commit to a 3-year term.
The Parks and Recreation Commission meets monthly and consists of seven members, plus City staff and a Council representative. The Parks and Recreation Commission prepares operating policies and procedures for use in our existing parks. The Commission also makes recommendations to the City Council on related park programs, projects and improvements. The Parks and Recreation Commission is directed by the City’s Comprehensive Plan as it pertains to parks, open spaces, and trails. This Commission prepares and updates, for City Council approval, a five-year Capital Improvement Plan for the development of the city’s parks, open spaces and trail system.
All Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with approval from the City Council. Commissioners serve up to three-year terms.
